Water main break at 5th and walnut st.
A water main break has occurred on City of Denver property near 5th and Walnut streets. Please avoid the area while crews respond and address the issue.
Use caution when traveling nearby and consider alternate routes. Additional updates will be shared as they become available.
Update – August 28, 4:42 p.m.
Vehicle access to parking near 5th and Walnut streets and Lynx Crossing will be extremely limited. Road closures may occur with little notice. Those traveling to, or parking on campus, for the game located at Empower Field at Mile High should avoid this area and use alternate routes.
Update – August 28, 3 p.m.
Denver Water will begin repairs immediately on the sinkhole near 5th and Walnut streets. Traffic control and flaggers are en route to the area.
Please be aware of the following:
- Westbound traffic on Walnut Street will not be permitted while repairs are underway. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.
- Water service to Lynx Crossing remains on. Denver Water is continuing to supply water to the residence halls, though occupants may experience low water pressure during repairs.
- Denver Water will also repair the previous patch within the intersection.
- Repairs are expected to take a minimum of eight hours.
The water main break is located on City of Denver property. Please continue to use caution around the area and follow all posted traffic controls and directions from crews.
