Shuttle Service Available to All Following 11th and Auraria Bus Stop Closure

Parking and Transportation Services is committed to ensuring a safe and accessible campus for everyone and offers an Accessibility Shuttle to all members of campus, and especially to assist persons with disabilities, in transportation to designated locations on campus. For added security the Auraria Campus Police Department offers escort to a vehicle or destination within the bounds of the campus. Additionally, motorist assistance is offered to those affiliated with the campus as long as the vehicle is located in a safe and accessible location within campus bounds. 

Campus Accessible Shuttle (CAS)

Now Available to All Campus Affiliates

As of January 1, 2026, the Campus Accessibility Shuttle (CAS) is available to all Auraria Campus affiliates, including students, staff, and faculty. This service is no longer limited to individuals with disabilities.

The CAS is a free courtesy service provided by Parking and Transportation Services, designed to support safe, convenient travel across campus.

How to Use the Shuttle

  • Riders must present a valid campus ID to use the service
  • No prior registration or accessibility sticker is required
  • The shuttle operates on a call-to-ride basis only (no scheduled rides)

To request a ride:

  • Go to a designated shuttle stop (see Campus Accessibility Map)
  • Call the dispatch line at 303-556-2001
  • A driver will be dispatched to pick you up and transport you to another designated stop

Please note:

Pick-up and drop-off are only available at designated shuttle stops and the drivers cannot stop at locations outside of these marked areas.

FAQ – Campus Accessibility Shuttle

Q: Who can use the Campus Accessibility Shuttle (CAS)?

A: The CAS is available to all Auraria Campus affiliates, including students, staff, and faculty. A valid campus ID is required to ride.

Q: Do I need to register or have a special permit to use the shuttle?

A: No. Registration and accessibility stickers are no longer required. Simply present a valid campus ID when boarding.

Q: How do I request a ride?

A: Go to a designated shuttle stop and call the dispatch line at 303-556-2001. A driver will be sent to pick you up and transport you to another designated stop.

Q: Can I be picked up or dropped off anywhere on campus?

A: No. Shuttle service is limited to designated stops only. Both pick-up and drop-off must occur at these marked locations.

Q: What are the hours of operation?

A: The shuttle operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Q: Can service animals ride on the shuttle?

A: Yes. Service animals are allowed on the shuttle as long as they are accompanied by their owner.

Q: Are there shuttle vehicles accessible for mobility equipment?

A: Yes. The fleet includes a vehicle equipped to accommodate mobility needs, including:

  • Wheelchairs
  • Walkers
  • Crutches

This vehicle is also equipped with a lift to assist with boarding and exiting.

Q: Can Parking and Transportation Services provide support with mobility to and from buildings or personal vehicles?

A: No. Parking and Transportation Services cannot support mobility needs outside of providing shuttle rides, riders needing extra accommodations should speak with their respective Human Resources or Accessibilities offices.

Q: What if I need transportation after hours?

A: After shuttle hours, you can request a safety escort through the Auraria Campus Police Department (ACPD) by calling 303-556-5000.

Q: Are there any locations after-hours escort by ACPD will not service?

A: Yes. ACPD escorts do not service certain University of Colorado Denver locations, including:

  • CU Denver Building
  • Lawrence Street Center
  • Business School Building

Campus Safety & Additional Services

Parking and Transportation Services is committed to ensuring a safe and accessible campus environment. In addition to the CAS, Parking and Transportation Services provides:

  • Motorist assistance (for vehicles located in safe, accessible areas on campus)
    • Tools for Tire Changes
    • Battery Jump Starts
    • Air for Tire Fills

In addition, Auraria Campus Police Department (ACPD) provides motorist assistance services for:

  • Vehicle Lock-Outs (Customer Locked Out of Vehicle)

Night Rider Services (After Hours)

When the Campus Accessibility Shuttle is not in operation, students, staff, and faculty may request a safety escort through ACPD.
