West Classroom Building Closures & Impacts

Starting January 15, 2026, and until the completion of construction on the MSU Denver Gina and Frank Day Health Institute Tower (estimated summer of 2027), there will be impacts to the West Classroom and the surrounding construction areas. Detailed impacts can be found below.

Noise Impacts

During spring break (March 23-29) noise levels around the construction site may be high, and faculty and staff may want to consider remote work.

Upcoming activity for the week of March 19th – April 3rd

  • March 23 – 27: Brick removal from south side of West Classroom 💥💥💥
  • March 30 – April 3: Waterproofing foundations 💥 and intermittent noise from rebar💥💥

Legend:

General Construction Impacts

  • On Friday, April 3, there will be asphalt paving work starting at 8 a.m. There will be an unpleasant odor associated with it, and those with a sensitivity should avoid the area.
  • Construction fencing has been installed along Champa Street between 9th and 10th streets. There is no public access in this area during the duration of construction.
  • A travel path for traffic on Champa from east to west is being established, and will be shared when available.

  • Through the duration of construction, the south and only stair in the West Classroom Building will be closed. Stair and elevators located in the Arts Building and Central Classroom Building can be used to access West Classroom 1st and 2nd Floors.
