In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the Auraria Higher Education Center located in downtown Denver is issuing the following notice of a crime that occurred on the Auraria Campus.
Arson Other: Hospitality and Learning Center
Timely Warning #6-2021
REPORTED OFFENSE: Auraria Campus Police are investigating an Arson that occurred at approximately 9:17 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021. While by the exterior of the Hospitality and Learning Center southwest corner, a trash can was lit on fire. The suspect fled the area into Downtown Denver.

SUSPECT: The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30s in age, medium build, average height, wearing a red jacket black, head band, black shirt, and a blue backpack. A photo of the suspect:

Aggravated Assault with Other Dangerous Weapon: Auraria West Light Rail Station
Timely Warning #5-2021
REPORTED OFFENSE: Auraria Campus Police are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred at approximately 7:45 am on Thursday, September 16, 2021. While working near the Auraria West light rail platform, an AHEC employee was sprayed in the face with an unknown chemical agent. The suspect fled the area on a red bicycle and was last seen heading south on Walnut St. south of the intersection with 5th St.

SUSPECT: The suspect is described as a white male, early 20’s in age, slim build, average height, wearing a dark-colored t-shirt, grey pants, dark-colored ball cap, white sneakers, wearing a blue backpack, and riding a red bicycle.
AGGRAVATED ROBBERY 11th & WALNUT STREET
Timely Warning #4-2021
REPORTED OFFENSE: The Auraria Campus Police Department is investigating a report of an aggravated robbery that occurred near the intersection of 11th & Walnut Street on the Auraria Campus. On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at about 1:37 a.m. a man had his skateboard stolen from him by two men he had met hours before. One of the men hit the victim with a rock, which caused a laceration to the victim’s head. There was a delay in reporting as the man is new to the area and was confused as to the location of the robbery. Initially, the man reported being off-campus. Upon further investigation a more exact location of the crime was determined.

SUSPECTS: One suspect is described as a white male in his early twenties wearing jeans, a black t-shirt, a black baseball cap with white lettering, and carrying a skateboard. The second suspect is a white male in his early twenties wearing multi-colored pants, a black t-shirt, a black baseball cap, and carrying a skateboard.

Auraria Campus Police Department apprehended a suspect just before noon on Monday, August 12, 2011.
AGGRAVATED ROBBERY AT THE COLFAX AT AURARIA LIGHT RAIL STATION

REPORTED OFFENSE: The Auraria Campus Police Department is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at approximately 5:28 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2021. While on the light rail platform; a white male with tattoo’s on his face robbed the victim of a bicycle at knife point. The suspect fled on the stolen bicycle riding through campus. The suspect was last seen on camera at 7th & Auraria Parkway heading toward the Ball Arena.

SUSPECT: The suspect is described as a white male, tattoos on his face, very short hair, late 20’s in age, medium build, average height, wearing a black shirt, and blue jeans. Below is a photo of the suspect:

FONDLING NEAR AURARIA LIBRARY
Timely Warning #2-2021
REPORTED OFFENSE: Auraria Campus Police are investigating a fondling that occurred at approximately 6:46 pm on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. The victim was walking along the bike lane on the south side of the Auraria Library when the suspect rode up behind them on a bicycle and fondled them.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY AND ASSAULT AT THE COLFAX AT AURARIA LIGHT RAIL STATION

REPORTED OFFENSE: Auraria Campus Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery and assault that occurred at approximately 9:52 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021. The suspect assaulted the victim by punching them and then took the victim’s wallet while onboard a light rail train leaving downtown. At the Colfax at Auraria Light Rail Station the suspect exited the train and fled across Colfax Ave. and was last seen near the intersection of Colfax Ave. & Mariposa St.

SUSPECT: The suspect is described as a black male wearing a COVID face mask. He was wearing a black jumpsuit with white stripes on the arms and legs and carrying a blue backpack. Photos of the suspect:
