2026 Timely Warning Archive

In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the Auraria Higher Education Center issued the following notices of crimes that occurred on the Auraria Campus. A “timely warning” is issued to the campus community via email when incidents of criminal activity as defined by the Clery Act occur on campus or within the immediate vicinity of campus, and when the criminal activity represents an ongoing threat to campus.

TYPE OF CRIME: ARSON – Exterior of the Cherry Creek Building (1111 W. Colfax Ave)

REPORTED OFFENSE: Auraria Campus Police are investigating an Arson that occurred at approximately 11:36 a.m. on Thursday, February 26,2026.  The arson occurred on the west exterior of the Cherry Creek Building (1111 W. Colfax Ave). The unknown suspect fled the area on the RTD Light-rail train off campus.

SUSPECT: The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male,  wearing tan pants and a grey tank top.
