Payment for parking on campus is required 24/7, 365 days a year as soon as you park your vehicle.

Pay With Cell Phone on ParkMobile (Recommended)

You can use your cell phone to make payments for daily parking. Download and pay using the ParkMobile app 

Pay-By-License Plate

The 5th Street Garage, Tivoli Parking Garage, and all surface lots use pay-by-license plate machines. Simply enter your license plate number and form of payment (cash or debit/credit) at the pay station. The receipt may be kept for your records; however, it does not need to be displayed on your dashboard.

Parking Permits

Pre-paid permits guarantee parking in certain lots on campus. Auraria Campus students, faculty, and staff can purchase parking permits through the Parking and Transportation Office. A permit saves you .25 cents a day on parking. Permits and passports can be customized Monday–Thursday to match your schedule and provide you with the greatest savings. More info HERE.

Discounted Prepayment: Passport Program

Parking & Transportation Services offers the option to pre-pay for parking by the semester at a discounted rate. The Passport Program allows daily parking in most campus lots according to the level purchased (Gold, Silver, Bronze). Students, faculty, and staff can register their vehicle using a current Campus ID and vehicle information to avoid paying the Nights and Weekends parking rate. You may register more than one vehicle. Once you register your vehicle(s), please note that it will take at least 24 hours for your information to be updated in the system.

All other permits and passport variations require vehicle registration to cover the days your passport or permit is not valid.

Nights and Weekends Parking Rate for Unregistered Vehicles
A $20 Nights and Weekends rate is charged for Auraria Campus parking lots and garages for vehicles that are not registered. *Please note: The Tivoli Garage Nights and Weekend Rate is $25. Nights and Weekends rates are in effect:

  • Monday – Thursday: when parking after 5 pm
  • Friday – Sunday: All day

In-person Registration
Register your vehicle in person by visiting the Parking & Transportation Services Office (777 Lawrence Way, 1st Floor). Be sure to bring your current valid Campus ID or current class schedule and your vehicle registration to register in person.

Registered User Pay Station Process

  1. Campus users register their license plate(s) using the link/process above/below. 
  2. Parkers enter their license plate into the IPS pay station
  3. Select coupon option (#)
  4. Parker enters license plate into the pay station
  5. The campus daily rate would be displayed, and the parker would submit payment

Note: steps 3 and 4 are only needed if entering your license plate during evening/weekend timeframes when the campus parking rates change.

Return Policy

Return Policy for Parking & Transportation Services

Semester parking pass cancellations are refunded on a prorated basis.  

  • Refunds are only available during general sales periods. When general sales close each semester, cancellation and refunds will no longer be available. Please contact Parking and Transportation Services for more information on the last day to submit returns and cancellations each semester.

Refunds will not be issued for payments made on citations unless granted by an appeal.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available in nearly all lots on the Auraria Campus. Parking spaces are marked and reserved for vehicles that have a state-issued hangtag. See requirements below: 

  • Permit lots and spaces: an AHEC-issued permit is required
  • Daily-fee lots and garages: a state-issued hangtag for persons with disabilities is required

All accessible parking on campus follows the standard Auraria Campus fee schedule. Daily-fee lots require payment at the time of parking.

State-issued blue disability placards and disability license plates are not exempt from payment at Auraria Campus parking meters.

If you received a parking citation, please read this page thoroughly. Payments must be made within 45 days of the citation or the fine amount will double.

Appeal a Parking Citation

To contest a parking citation, please submit an appeal within 45 days of receiving a citation. Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by a Parking Appeals Referee.

Please note: the results will be sent to you via the email address you provide on your appeal, unless you indicate that you would prefer to receive the results via U.S. mail. Please also keep in mind this email could be routed to your “junk” folder, so remember to check there if you haven’t received a response.

What do I need to appeal a citation?

  • A valid reason for your appeal
  • Proof of payment, which includes the payment date and time (e.g., a photo of your parking receipt, pay-by-cell screenshot, validation, or reciprocal permit)

Be aware that the following arguments are unlikely to result in a successful appeal:

  • I don’t agree with or don’t know the regulations
  • I couldn’t find a space in my usual parking lot/garage
  • I have been parking this way for a long time and have never received a citation until now
  • Other people were parked this way
  • I was late for a class/meeting or my class/meeting ran late
  • I can’t afford to pay the fine
  • Someone told me it was okay to park there
  • I was only in violation for a short time
  • Someone else was driving my car that day
  • I didn’t see the sign
  • I forgot to pay

Metered Parking

  • Payment is required 24/7, 365 days a year, immediately upon parking.
  • Parking meters on the Auraria Campus are intended for short-term parking.
  • Parking meters can be paid via the ParkMobile app, by visiting ParkMobile.io, or by calling 877-727-5951.
  • Parking permits and passports issued by Auraria Campus are not acceptable forms of parking meter payment.
  • State-issued blue disability placards and disability license plates are not exempt from payment at Auraria Campus parking meters.

Motorcycle Parking

  • Motorcycle-designated spaces are available in the 5th Street Garage and Tivoli Parking Garage. 

Overnight Parking

  • Overnight parking is prohibited without prior approval from the Parking & Transportation Services Office. Please call 303-556-2003 for more information. 
  • If a vehicle is left overnight due to an emergency, please call Parking Services Dispatch at 303-556-2000.
  • Vehicles that remain in garages after closing may be retrieved by contacting the Auraria Campus Police Department at 303-556-5000.

University of Colorado Reciprocal Parking 

Faculty, staff, and students with a valid full-time parking permit issued by CU Denver and UCCS are allowed in Elm Lot, Walnut Lot, and 5th Street Garage, with a valid hangtag/placard, conspicuously displayed in their vehicle to avoid enforcement for non-payment of daily fee.

Parking Coupon Request

Coupon Request Forms must be submitted at least 3 business days prior to the dates being requested and no more than 30 business days before the dates being requested. All fields of the Coupon Request Form must be filled out with the proper information required.

Parking and Transportation Services reserves the right to reject any Coupon Request Form or request that does not follow these guidelines.

Submitted forms are processed within 3 business days of the request unless information has not been provided and further communication is needed.

Covered Bicycle Parking

Get Your ID Card Encoded

You must get your ID card encoded to access covered bike parking. You can encode your campus ID card for access by standing next to any card reader on campus with your campus ID and following these steps:

  • Call AHEC Facilities 303-556-3260, and ask for Access Control 
  • Access Control will ask you for your campus affiliation (AHEC, CCD, MSU Denver, CU Denver) and your name, and then instruct you to tap the card reader with your current campus ID

You can also get your ID card encoded for access in-person at Access Control. Access Control is located in the Facilities Management Building, 1156 7th Street, Room 131. Access Control is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 1-2:30 p.m., and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8-9 a.m. You can also schedule an appointment with Access Control.

Parking & Transportation Services offers many transportation programs to make getting around campus easy and safe.

If you’re on campus after the sun goes down, a safe ride to your car is available. Please call or text the Auraria Campus Police Department and they will send an officer to escort you to your vehicle or to your destination within the boundaries of campus.

Campus Accessible Shuttle: 303-556-2001

The Campus Accessible Shuttle service is a transportation program for persons with disabilities who need a ride to and from the designated stops within the boundaries of campus and to CU Denver buildings located across Speer Boulevard.

Please note that riders must be at the designated stop they’ve requested. As well, service will only be made to the designated locations on the map; special requests for stops are not possible.

Payroll Deduction for Employees

Return Policy

Return Policy for Parking & Transportation Services

Semester parking pass cancellations are refunded on a prorated basis.  

  • Refunds are only available during general sales periods. When general sales close each semester, cancellation and refunds will no longer be available. Please contact Parking and Transportation Services for more information on the last day to submit returns and cancellations each semester.

Refunds will not be issued for payments made on citations unless granted by an appeal.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available in nearly all lots on the Auraria Campus. Parking spaces are marked and reserved for vehicles that have a state-issued hangtag. See requirements below: 

  • Permit lots and spaces: an AHEC-issued permit is required
  • Daily-fee lots and garages: a state-issued hangtag for persons with disabilities is required

All accessible parking on campus follows the standard Auraria Campus fee schedule. Daily-fee lots require payment at the time of parking.

State-issued blue disability placards and disability license plates are not exempt from payment at Auraria Campus parking meters.

Appeal a Parking Citation

To contest a parking citation, please submit an appeal within 45 days of receiving a citation. Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by a Parking Appeals Referee.

Please note: the results will be sent to you via the email address you provide on your appeal, unless you indicate that you would prefer to receive the results via U.S. mail. Please also keep in mind this email could be routed to your “junk” folder, so remember to check there if you haven’t received a response.

What do I need to appeal a citation?

  • A valid reason for your appeal
  • Proof of payment, which includes the payment date and time (e.g., a photo of your parking receipt, pay-by-cell screenshot, validation, or reciprocal permit)

Be aware that the following arguments are unlikely to result in a successful appeal:

  • I don’t agree with or don’t know the regulations
  • I couldn’t find a space in my usual parking lot/garage
  • I have been parking this way for a long time and have never received a citation until now
  • Other people were parked this way
  • I was late for a class/meeting or my class/meeting ran late
  • I can’t afford to pay the fine
  • Someone told me it was okay to park there
  • I was only in violation for a short time
  • Someone else was driving my car that day
  • I didn’t see the sign
  • I forgot to pay

If you have a valid reason to appeal a citation and can provide proof of payment:

Metered Parking

  • Payment is required 24/7, 365 days a year, immediately upon parking.
  • Parking meters on the Auraria Campus are intended for short-term parking.
  • Parking meters can be paid via the ParkMobile app, by visiting ParkMobile.io, or by calling 877-727-5951.
  • Parking permits and passports issued by Auraria Campus are not acceptable forms of parking meter payment.

Motorcycle Parking

  • Motorcycle-designated spaces are available in the 5th Street Garage and Tivoli Parking Garage. 

Overnight Parking

  • Overnight parking is prohibited without prior approval from the Parking & Transportation Services Office. Please call 303-556-2003 for more information. 
  • If a vehicle is left overnight due to an emergency, please call Parking Services Dispatch at 303-556-2000.
  • Vehicles that remain in garages after closing may be retrieved by contacting the Auraria Campus Police Department at 303-556-5000.

University of Colorado Reciprocal Parking 

Faculty, staff, and students with a valid full-time parking permit issued by CU Denver and UCCS are allowed in Elm Lot, Walnut Lot, and 5th Street Garage, with a valid hangtag/placard, conspicuously displayed in their vehicle to avoid enforcement for non-payment of daily fee.

Parking Coupon Request

Coupon Request Forms must be submitted at least 3 business days prior to the dates being requested and no more than 30 business days before the dates being requested. All fields of the Coupon Request Form must be filled out with the proper information required.

Parking and Transportation Services reserves the right to reject any Coupon Request Form or request that does not follow these guidelines.

Submitted forms are processed within 3 business days of the request unless information has not been provided and further communication is needed.

Get Your ID Card Encoded

You must get your ID card encoded to access covered bike parking. You can encode your campus ID card for access by standing next to any card reader on campus with your campus ID and following these steps:

  • Call AHEC Facilities 303-556-3260, and ask for Access Control 
  • Access Control will ask you for your campus affiliation (AHEC, CCD, MSU Denver, CU Denver) and your name, and then instruct you to tap the card reader with your current campus ID

You can also get your ID card encoded for access in-person at Access Control. Access Control is located in the Facilities Management Building, 1156 7th Street, Room 131. Access Control is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 1-2:30 p.m., and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8-9 a.m. You can also schedule an appointment with Access Control.

Pay With Cell Phone on ParkMobile (Recommended)

You can use your cell phone to make payments for daily parking. Download and pay using the ParkMobile app 

Pay-By-License Plate

The 5th Street Garage, Tivoli Parking Garage, and all surface lots use pay-by-license plate machines. Simply enter your license plate number and form of payment (cash or debit/credit) at the pay station. The receipt may be kept for your records; however, it does not need to be displayed on your dashboard.
