Auraria Campus Custodial Services is generally responsible for cleaning interior building spaces, maintaining cleanliness and safety inside and outside Auraria Campus facilities, trash pickup and waste management, sticker and graffiti removal, snow removal, keeping restrooms supplied with paper products, and leading pest control efforts through the management of contractors.
The team takes pride in keeping the campus clean so that students, faculty, staff, visitors and guests can accomplish their educational and professional goals, thrive in the diversity of a multi-institutional academic community.

Most areas receive a “detailed” or “project” clean two times per year during holiday breaks. If you feel like your area is in need of additional cleaning please call 303-556-3260 to see if an additional detailed or project clean can be scheduled. There may be an additional charge for extra detailed cleanings.

Why isn’t my office trash being emptied?
Due to custodial staffing levels, we are unable to empty office trash cans so we ask that office users empty their trash into the taller trash cans “slim jims” that are located in hallways, break rooms, etc.
Is my office or classroom vacuumed every day?

Can you empty my shredder?
Unfortunately, we are not able to empty office shredders. The contents of shredders need to go into the trash bins and not the recycling bins. The recycling company has let us know the tiny shreds fall through the conveyor belt at the recycling plant.
Can I use the custodial vacuum cleaner if there is a spill in my area?
Unfortunately, we can’t share our vacuum cleaners because they get a lot of wear and tear. However, if you have a spill, just call us and we will come take care of it.
Alternatively, some departments purchase their own small vacuum.
